Catherine Brasseur obtained her Phd in analytical chemistry from Liège University, in the department of Professor Jean-François Focant.

During her thesis, she performed a research period at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of Atlanta.

From 2014 to 2017, she worked at the European Technology Center of ExxonMobil Chemical located at Machelen, as chromatography lab supervisor.

She joined Certech in 2017 as Senior Analytical Chemist.

Catherine Brasseur is specialised in bidimensional gas phase chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry, as well as in VOC analysis techniques covering biological, environmental, air quality and emissions from materials applications.

Chemical engineer in polymers and coatings, Clément Lemenu obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry (Institut Paul Lambin, Belgium, 2015) and a Master degree in chemical engineering (Institut Meurice, Belgium, 2018). His research experience comprise the following: (1) University of Hertfordshire (UK) – microfluidics and microengineering research group, (2) Dow (BE) – paper coating R&D, where he worked on anti-adhesive treatments for the paper industry. He joined Certech (Seneffe, Belgium) in October 2018 as project associate within the materials technology group (polymers and composites).

Morgane Even graduated from Chimie ParisTech in 2016. She performed her doctoral work at the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR). Her thesis entitled “Characterization of the emissions of volatile organic compounds from polymer-based consumer products: towards a realistic exposure assessment” will be defended in the next weeks. Since 2020, she works at BAM (Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing), she is developing a method for the determination of very volatile organic compounds (VVOCs) in emission measurements from construction products and in the indoor air.

Elisa Kersten achieved her general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) in 2016. She started her undergraduate program in ‘Technical Chemistry’ at the technical university of cologne and gained her Bachelor of Science in 2020.

Her bachelor’s thesis was elaborated in cooperation with the company KRONOS International Inc. and dealt with the topic:

“Mass-Calibrated Investigation of Carbonyl Compounds on TiO2 Powder with High Performance Liquid Chromatography”.

In 2020 she began the studies for her master’s degree in ‘Applied Chemistry’ at the technical university of cologne and will finish it in August 2021. She is currently working on her master’s thesis in cooperation with KRONOS International Inc. and investigate the Hansen Solubility Parameters for varying Titanium dioxide pigments.

Florian Cotin graduated as bioscience engineer, specialized in chemistry and bioindustry.

His current work situation is Project associate at Certech in the Materials Technology team, with a focus on polymer recycling
